Tao of Rand
- A lie in this case would be appropriate and acceptable.

Although a Scout is Trustworthy, there's no need to be a fool about it. There are obviously situations where one is forced to lie. Usually these are situations where the person asking is truly at fault: "Do you know what I got for Christmas?" or "Does this make me look fat?" are two clasic examples of when lying would be appropriate and acceptable.
Likewise in leadership it is sometimes necessary to lie for the benefit of the team and the project. The key is to lie only when needed and only to preserve the ultimate goal of the project. It is not appropriate to lie about completion dates, for example, but it is acceptable to lie about deadlines to a chronically late team member.
