Our founder had the following to say about himself:

I am a Scout. There is no equivocation in this statement. It is not the same as playing a sport or practicing a hobby. Scouting is an essential part of my character that shapes my very thoughts and values.

Occasionally, we get wrapped up in the structure of the organization or the politics of the human relations. These may be important as vehicles to deliver Scouting, but are not what counts in the end. It is the impact on youth of a life changing nature, achieved because people care to make a difference.
